School Benches to Poor Student

$59,250

Brief on Project:

The proposal is to provide 1,200 Benches & Desks to poor rural children studying in Government run Zilla Parishad High Schools in villages of West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh State in Southern India.

Present Inconvenience (to be addressed by this project):

Children in these schools sit on the floor in their class rooms to take their lessons and write notes which is highly inconvenient and painful as they spend long hours in school of close to 8 hours. Thus this project will help the children sit comfortably in their classrooms and therefore enhance their concentration level which would result in better academic results and more importantly a further interest to pursue education. Equipping schools with this infrastructure would promote literacy and empower the future generation, particularly the more needy poor rural children in villages where the literacy rates are very low.

Beneficiaries:

With each Bench & Desk set accommodating 4 students, a total of 4,800 poor children will be benefitting from this project year after year and this project will become invaluable to the poor students.
