india lives in her villages, 70% of the population resides in rural area and a large number lives below the poverty line. primery health care is their vital need. because of malnutrition, many of them suffer from eye problems. vijayanand diagnostic centre, is catering to the needs of these rural people from which a couple of villages namely dakha, hussainpura,bhatian,sunet,rajpura,humbran,haibowal, malikpur,jassian and bahadurke etc. have been adopted. it is proposed to identify and treat patiants suffering from glucoma, cataract, diabetic retnopathy and other referactive errors. for this purpose it has been decided to set up an eye treatment centre for providing free services to the deserving ruralities. we shall have a referral tie up with the local hospitals for operative measures so as to prevent blindness.

The District of Ludhiana having population of 2.5 million has very limited facilities for attending to eye ailments of the weaker section. So this project will be a boon for them.
