Cataract Surgeries for Poor.

$24,000

THE PROJECT:

The project aims at carrying out cataract surgeries with IOL implantation in very poor patients from rural areas.

PLACE:

It will be carried out at very well knownR.M. Eye Hospital ; Chikhodara, Anand, Gujarat, India. The hospital is well equipped and has been catering these services to poorest of poor patients for last several years. It runs mainly on the donations from charitable organizations and partial government aid.The hospital also conducts eye camps in very interior rural areas to subject them to IOL implantation.

IMPACT:

This project will restore sight to people who otherwise can not afford even such a small amount and lose vision. The restoration of vision will help the person to be more productive for the family.Ofamily. Overall benefits would be much beyond restoration of eye sight. Since many patients would be the sole bread earners for the family, the restored vision will help them to work with more confidence and vigor. This will benefit the family as a whole.
