	D-2183    Philippines - Tanauan Papsmear Year 2 $18,467 We started with the first Papsmear project for indigent mothers/women for RY 2010-2011. For RY 2011-2012, we are again applying for a matching grant for Papsmear project Year 2 for indigent mothers/women but this time with increased beneficiaries from 2 more municipalities. Total beneficiaries is now 2800 indigent mothers/ women from Tanauan City, Talisay and Laurel, all in the Province of Batangas. The implementation of our Papsmear project Yr 1 in Tanauan City has spread the news to the nearby municipalities of Talisay and Laurel. We are now being requested by the Barangay Officials to implement the same project to their poor Barangays of these two Municipalities. These poor mothers would rather spend their money on food and other basic needs of their families than spend on health services such as papsmear. Our Club has started educating these women on the importance and benefits of this medical procedure on their health.
