The Growing need for ‘Medical Ambulance Project' in Delhi.
• As per the latest survey reports of WHO,30% of the population lives in JJ slum cluster out of which 14 million citizens of Delhi are suffering from malnutrition, Impoverishment, lack of proper Immunization and non existent of basic civic and health care facility.
• Our Medical Ambulance Project feasibility study report has revealed that there is just a handful of mobile health ambulances available to cater to a population universe of one lakh and above in the target catchment basin due to which contagious, life threatening disease like Dengue, swine flu, Jaundice, Cholera, Measles and chikungunya are rapidly spreading in unhygienic and stinking civic habitats in the nation’s capital, which need to be address, on a war footing basis.
• Moreover, with the tremendous unstoppable growth of the density of vehicular population in Delhi, it is a saddening fact that there has been an unabated increase in the death toll of road accident victim, simply because they are not provided with the immediate medical ambulance facility at the time and place of the accident. The timely availability of medical ambulances can also help the citizens of Delhi with medical emergency evacuations during natural disasters and calamites as well.
• The medical ambulances can help the senior citizens and for school children for providing primary healthcare and first aid during their service towards humanitarian causes, in true Rotarian spirits. Different Rotarian communities can even gain the premium CSR mileage as our Medical Ambulances will even carry the Rotarian logo with the theme proposed to be redeemed in the Rotarian year 2011-12, as these ambulances can also act as publicity cum wellness vans to promote the Rotarian agenda to serve the deprive sections for the society specially the BPL families living in the unserved and underserved areas of Delhi.
The benefiting communities can easily maintain these medical ambulances after the grant is provided as Rotarian Medical practitioners and nursing staff can volunteer them selves to execute the project in their respective residential colonies spread over the length and breath of Delhi which will greatly serve the humanitarian cause.
The host club has shown keep desire to serve the BPL habitats by reaching out to them through this Medical ambulance project. The host club already has a rich reservoir of actively involve Rotarian members who can undertake this project on immediate basis as they have a clear cut vision to promote the medical care mandate by rolling out a fleet of medical ambulances that will act as mobile publicity vehicles reaching out with the promise of good health, hygiene and sanitation with primary healthcare and ambulatory services.
The Medical Ambulances will be acquired, operated and maintained by the members of the Keshav Dharmarth Trust, a charitable NGO running orphanage in Delhi.
The Medical Ambulances will be equipped with
• Portable Stretcher
• Stethoscope
• Manometer
• Oxygen Cylinder
• Collapsible stretcher cum trolley
• First aid kit with necessary life saving drugs
• Immunization kit
These equipments will be operated by qualified task force consisting of Rotarians and other social workers and maintained by the AMC agencies. |
