Dr. K.S.G. Memorial Charitable Society is running a hospital in Industrial estate for the last 15years. It has an OPD of more than 200 patients & free treatments is given to all patients. There is one eye clinic for checkup only. The Society wishes to start operations for Cataract & Glucoma which are preventable causes of blindness. The town is industrial one & there are poor factory workers with lot of eye problems. There is a need for eye care centre which can provide all types of treatment for eye diseases including operation. The population of area is almost 2 lacs & no eye hospital is available in the area. There are few Govt. Primary schools & some private ones. There is need for regular eye checkup of children as there is large incidence of vit A deficiency, leading to light blindness the eye centre will provide periodic eye check up in all the schools. rc jalandhar west has taken up this project & all the members are enthusiastic to complete it at the earliest. |
