This is a Project of Urban Integrated Sustainable Development, in a sub-normal city expansion in a mangrove area. The overall population of the area is 15,000 people, and the part of the population aimed by the project is about 50 families in the first stage, about 200 participants.
The projects are part of a pilot program of the Rotary Nucleus of Community Development in implementation stage by the RC Ilheus Jorge Amado, co-sponsored by the Social Training Institution of Brazil named SEBRAE. The overall program is a fulfillment of the RC`s pursuit of the Eight Millennium Goals of the United Nations, adopted as goals by the RC Ilheus Jorge Amado. The local authorities for water and infra-structure are co-participants.
