Artificial Reef Establishment
$15,000
The project aims to establish an artificial reef in the coastal portion of Mercedes, Camarines Norte Philippines. The communities numbering more than 500 households in the bay are mostly fisherfolks whose fishcatch has been decreasing due to the destruction of the coral reefs. The reefs shall consist of a 4.5ft cement platform with steel frame. To personalize the platforms, a Rotary year logo or company logo would be embossed on the top to recognize the contributions.
The initial expenses would be used to establish a link of platforms to approximate the Rotary International logo. It is expected from previous projects that the artificial reefs would regenerate the fish population in the area within one year's time. |
