Project for Removing Blindness

$30,000

Our Club wants to donate an Operating Microscope for Eye Surgeries to a local Hospital which shall conduct over 4000 eye surgeries, free of cost, every year for sight saving/restoring for the poor and under privileged section of the Society.

India constitutes approximately 12 million blind people i.e. over 25% of the blindness world wide. Our region does not have any specialized tertiary level eye hospital and this facility shall greatly help the rural population for high quality eye care.

The local hospital has technical collaboration with L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. This is a world renowned authority for eye care. Thus, we feel that this project will be highly beneficial to the poor and under privileged section of the society. We are urgently looking for a foreign partner to collaborate with us for this project.
