 The Vocational Rehabiliatation Center for Deaf people is a proposed project of Sunsari Association of the Deaf. This organization is run by disabled people. They have good sense of work and education for livelyhood, but lack of opportunity to get technical education. The major focus of the project is to run a disability vocational Rehabilitation program in this region.
Technical and Vocational Education in general education in Nepal is also lacking, there are vitually not any Vocational Rehabiliatation programs for Disabled people. to fullfil this gap this organization come forward to establish a program to support disabiled people to get technical and vocational education through their means of access. This project will provide technical education for disabled people with Nationally approaved curriculum of technical education. This project will support the center for purchasing Furnitures, Teaching equipments Such as Multimedia projectors, Computers, Domestic Travel, Rental of home, contract for hiring of Instructors and interpreters, administrative expenses, Publicity expenses for available services, Formal primary to secondary education support for participants in Schools etc.
Primarily this program will support to deaf people with manual communication. Afterwards this will be expanded to other major disability areas, such as Blind, Physical and other types of disability who can perform jobs with their form of communication. According to the national curriculum of vocational and Technical education, the curriculum will also be improvised with experience in second phase. |
