Eye Care In Kuje Fct
$95,000
In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, statistics have it that there are 2 blind people in every 1000 and 115 bad sight in every 1000. Also for the age of 40 years and above, 3.8% are blind and 2/3 have visual impairment. This statistics is for the whole territory and efforts to combat them are more in the city centre. Kuje is one of the 6 Area councils in the FCT and the mostly rural population there needs eye care services. The fund will help in building an eye care cetre and putting some basic equipments. This will be done to compliment efforts of the government agency Health and Human Services Secretariate (HHSS), the International Center for Eye Care Education/ Sight Savers International (ICEE)and another Eye Care organisation CBM. Some of these organisations have taken some councils in Abuja but Kuje is yet to benefit and it has mostly rural population. |
