Rain Water Harvesting

$24,000

PROJECT: RAIN WATER HARVESTING-STORAGE TANKS (HILLS)

GOAL: To construct Irrigation Water storage tanks areas in Himachal Pradesh (HP) in a place proposed by Clubs from the area in the District. Storage tanks are best suited for rainwater harvesting in hilly areas.

NEED: There are many villages in HP state which do not have access to irrigation. They are totally dependent on rains for irrigation and get just 1 crop. The storage tanks will help in collecting water during rainy season and will help to provide irrigation round the year. This will help in multi-cropping & hence improve economy of village.

BENIFICIARIES: Village community of appx 1000 will be the direct beneficiary of project as augmenting water sources will improve water availability and help them with cropping round the year.

ROTARIAN PARTICIPATION: Clubs has already identified the area which need such rain water storage facility.

TARGET AREA: Villages around Solan Town in state of Himachal Pradesh
