   Mexico - Tecate

Shoes

$20,000

This project is a project of Serving Hands International

On the outskirts of Tecate BC, Mexico there is a group of missionaries that serve hundreds of poor families with food, clothing, and medical attention. They have recently opened an orphanage for girls who have been abused or abandoned by their parents. In this grant we are requesting funds to provide shoes for the many families and their children who visit this missionary site each week to obtain the bare necessities of life. These poor people usually have to walk long distances to school, to work, or to obtain other services that are provided to them. We also will provide shoes for the girls at the orphanage. We would like to make a distribution of these shoes sometime in the spring of 2005.
