In October 2003, The Headmaster of the Nana Wiafe Methodist Vocational School and The Bishop of the Methodist Church, Mpraeso, wrote a letter to the Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central seeking assistance from the club to extend grid electricity to the above mentioned vocational school. This is the only vocational school on the Kwahu ridge and it serves a large section of the Kwahu Ridge and Afram Plains community, approximately about seven hundred thousand people.
Electricity supply to the school will enable it to fully utilise its facilities and vocational equipment it already has that needs electricity to run. Classes and lessons that run into the night can also be undertaken. It will also allow the use of the facility at night for studying and the installation of security lights to secure the school and its property at night.
This project will provide a 50KkVA Transformer for $5,000, a Generator for $5,000, 10 Treated Poles for $2,600, and 1,200m of conductor cable for $2,400. |
