Project Description Country: Mexico Location: Baja California, Mexico Total Budget: $22,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Activity Type: Health: Volunteer Services Summary: Surgical power instrumentation for correction of children's Facial-Cleft Deformities in Baja California, Mexico Severe facial bone deformities are the result of 30-40% of all facial cleft cases and there are many who go untreated in Baja Mexico due to unavailable resources. This grant will supplement previous MG equipment used for the correction of these facial deformities and will provide the necessary power instrumentation necessary for full management within the existing clinics. The population benefiting from this MG will number around 30,000 and the club members will be directly involved with the presentation of the equipment to the hospitals and will work in partnership with the local Rotary Club of the regions served to screen and treat the children and older patients for this care.
