Project Description Country: USA Location: Signal Hill, California Total Budget: $12,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Purchase/Delivery School Supplies to 2200 Students in 3 Schools in Signal Hill, California, USA Signal Hill has three schools with 2200 students, many of whom come from low income families, that cannot afford basic school supplies. Teachers have requested donation of back to school supplies such as, pens, pencils, binders, rulers, markers, paper, back packs, crayons, etc. The timeline is to solicit donations and engage in fund raising from February to September 2017; purchase the items in July/August; meet as a group with community volunteers to pack the supplies by age group and school, and deliver before the Back to School night in September 2017. The District Grant will be used to supplement Club community service funds and community donations to purchase bulk rate school supplies. No grant money will be spent to secure supplies prior to issuance of grant funds from district.
