Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Imperial, NE

Total Budget: $5,000

Area of Focus: Economic and community development

Activity Type: Community Development: Disaster Recovery

Summary: Provide rescue gear for the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department’s Rope Rescue Squad

Tripod rescue gear helps firemen in rope rescue situations in virtually any urban, industrial, or wilderness location. In our rural setting, the Tripod would provide stability for our volunteer firemen when they must use ropes and pulleys from such places as the tops of buildings, grain bins, or rocky structures to help rescue victims. It is also useful for confined space rescue.

The Tripod will help ensure the safety not only for victims but for the firemen themselves and will speed up the rescue process when time is a critical factor in the victim's survival. At present, Imperial's Rope Rescue Squad does not have any access to this equipment.

Members of the Imperial Rotary Club will hold community fundraisers and work with other community organizations to raise the necessary funds to complete this project.
