The Gillette Energy Rotary would like to continue to support the children and teachers in the schools of the San Juan Del Sur, School District, Nicaragua. For the past several years, members of the Gillette Energy Rotary and the Gillette Rotary Club have journeyed to Nicaragua at their own expense to deliver uniforms, shoes and socks, backpacks for the students of at least three rural schools (each year), and school supplies, such as notebooks, paper, pens, dry erase markers, wall posters, erasers, and others needed items. We also support 3-5 rural "Saturday School" teachers with a yearly salary of $450.00 each. There is such poverty in this area and in the last five years, we have barely scratched the surface. We get uniform donations from two Wyoming Catholic Schools and often have donations from various entities throughout the community. There is great need in the San Juan Del Sur Area in a country with incredible poverty. School begins in February and we would like to be there at that time.
