Project Description Country: USA Location: Santa Fe Springs gs Total Budget: $3,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Distribution of 200 backpacks with school suppliers for local underpriviledged youth Santa Fe Springs Rotary Club would like to partner again for the third year in a row with the city of Santa Fe Springs to assist with the annual back to school event where backpacks with school supplies are provided for 200 low income children who reside in the city. There is a special event to distribute the backpacks and have children pick out their supplies to fill it from tables at the Gus Velasco Neighborhood Center. The club helps organize the supplies and helps set up the backpacks for the event prior to the actual giveaway. The club's funds support purchase of backpacks and supplies.
