Project Description Country: USA Location: Pinetop, AZ Total Budget: $4,000 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development Activity Type: Education: Scholarships Summary: Four $1000 Scholarships for Graduating Students in White Mountain AZ Area The White Mountain Arizona region is located in one of the poorest counties in the country. However there are several great schools in the area that produce intelligent kids that are capable of going to college but may not have the funds to do so. In order to help deserving kids in the area our club pairs up with school administrative staff in our area including Blue Ridge High School and Show Low High school to select outstanding students that are in need of scholarships for college. Several students are selected through out the year as student of the month and then 4 are chosen at the end of the school year (May 2018) to receive scholarships. Our club will be pledging $2000 towards two scholarships and the matching grant will go towards two more. The scholarships are presented by club members at the end of the year assemblies at each school. This is a great service we try and provide to our local students and is greatly appreciated by the community.
