Project Amigo is a non-profit organization whose mission is to transform lives through education in Colima, Mexico. It targets youth from kindergarten to the university level. The Rotary Club of Fallbrook was so impressed with Project Amigo that several fellow Rotarians have visited the facility on a yearly basis and one actually moved to Mexico to be a part of their program. Last year we were able, with your help, to assist a high school student named Mariana Torres Cruz with a scholarship and it was so rewarding that we would like to offer her another scholarship of $600.00. This will provide the basic needs of transportation, uniforms, books, school supplies, a hot lunch, and weekly support through Project Amigo's Homework Club for a High School student.
We would also like to support a student entering the university by providing the student with a well-equipped laptop computer geared to the specifications of his or her program of study. The cost of this computer is $500.
The Rotary Club of Fallbrook respectfully request matching funds to support a scholarship in the amount of $600 and a laptop computer in the amount of $500 for a grant total of $1,100; $550 from The Rotary Club of Fallbrook and $550 from the District. Thank you for your consideration.
