Project Description Country: USA Location: Granbury , Texas Total Budget: $4,750 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarships Summary: In conjuntion with the Granbury High School CTE department Rotary receives applications from the high school for quailified seniors who are seeking financial asistance to attend college or tech school. With the help of the Granbury High School CTE department the Granbury Rotary club reviews 80-100 applications for assistance . We then , based on a set criteria, select 4-6 students who will receive scholarships ranging from 1,000-1,500.00 to be used for the Fall or Spring semesters that they attend a college or technical school. The club membership made up of a specific scholarship committee reviews each application and then makes the approval . The committee then alerts the high school and they inform the student. A member of Rotary will then attend the high school awards ceremony and present the award to the student. The grant award was reduced from 1500.00 to 750.00 which reduced the amount that the club can fully pledge. They have been distributed to the students that meet the criteria established by the club. A dead line of 2/15/18 has been set for these applications to be turned in to the club committee. Once turned in selection of students will be made and the awards will be given, and the students will be notified. 23-Feb-18 by Vince Messina The Granbury High School scholarships have been awarded. The club has committed 5,250.00 toward the project and the grant request has been approved for 750.00 from the District for a total award of 6,000.00 We have made the awards as follows Ms Carly Cheek -2,000, Mr Cory Cheek 1,000.00, Ms Halee Vaughn-1,000.00 and Ms Roxana Hernandez-2,000.00 for a total of 6,000.00 14-Mar-18 by Sharron Miles System Entry: Project approved by the District Approval Committee. 14-Mar-18 by Sharron Miles System Entry: Check for DDF payment issued by Foundation Treasurer. 16-Mar-18 by Vince Messina Project has been approved by the District office.
