Project Description Country: USA Location: Kemmerer, WY Total Budget: $1,650 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Playground equipment for elementary school playgrounds in Kemmerer, WY. Physical activity and play on school playgrounds are important both for the health of students and for their ability to concentrate and learn. Lincoln County School District #1 principals have determined that there are needs for additional equipment on their elementary schools' playgrounds. The Kemmerer Rotary Club is seeking a Centennial grant in the amount of $1000 to purchase a new swing set for Kemmerer Elementary students (K-2) and two basketball stands/hoops for Canyon Elementary students (grades 3-6). Club members will coordinate with the principals to host special celebrations on the playgrounds when the equipment is in place. This will provide an opportunity for students to meet Rotarians and learn about what we do.
