Project Description Country: USA Location: Aledo, Texas Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarships Summary: Scholarship Program The Aledo Rotary Club would like to begin a scholarship program for students graduating high school with plans of attending college. A district matching grant will allow our club to award 2 - $500 scholarships to high school seniors living in the Aledo ISD area. Applications will be available in March and we will work with a representative from Aledo ISD to get the applications distributed. Along with the application, students must complete an essay on "Service Above Self". All applications and essays are due back to the club by May 1st. A small committee will review all paperwork and select the two scholarship recipients before graduation 2018.
