Project Description Country: USA Location: Morrill, NE Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: 17 Trees Planted at Morrill Early Childhood Center in Memory of Lily Martin Lily Martin, a 17 year old senior in high school died three weeks into her senior year in the first week of September 2017. Her Mother lives next door to the Early Childhood Center of the school district. The Rotary Club is planting 17 trees (one for each member of the club) at the Center. The family established a memorial fund to purchase a bench in Lily's memory amongst the trees that the Rotary Club of Morrill will plan on October 14, 2017. The trees are being donated by the NRD/National Forestry Service. The District grant will be used to purchase Compost, Mulch, Tree rings, stakes, twine, plaques with the name of the tree, the date, and the Rotary Club of Morrill with the official Rotary Emblem, a park grade trash receptacle similar in style to the bench purchased by the families memorial fund. The trees arrive on Saturday, October 14th. The club will assemble on Saturday to handle the planting. 16-Oct-17 by Joe Sherwood The trees, donated by ReTree Nebraska, were valued at $1700 and were delivered to Morrill On October 13th.
