Project Description Country: USA Location: Laramie, WY Total Budget: $2,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Repairs are needed on the leaking roof of Laramie's Eppson Senior Center The Eppson Center for Seniors is the only facility of its kind in Laramie providing much needed meal and socialization support for local seniors. 85% of the centers annual budget relies on grants and support from local organizations. On October 18, 2017, Tammy Comer, the centers director presented an informative talk to Laramie Sunrise club focusing on the urgent need for repairs to the center's leaking roof. Laramie Sunrise board elected to contribute $1k toward the roof repair project and to take advantage of the district 5440 Centennial grant program. The director reports 3 New HVAC systems will be installed within the next 6-8 weeks after which the roof reparations can begin. With the district's Centennial grant match, our club can cover the entire cost of these roof repairs. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) Nov 9: Laramie Sunrise club members decided to spend our club social event on January 23rd having supper at the Eppson Center. This event will enable our club members to present the grant check (lg. dry-erasable) to the director, to dine and visit with the seniors who utilize the center. At that time the director would assist us touring the facility and view directly the water damage from the leaking roof. She is thrilled. This afternoon she reported to me the HVAC systems have arrived and will be installed soon (ahead of schedule) which in turn will allow roof repairs to begin soon. She will receive the check from the club for the full amount when the district check arrives so that her project is not delayed. Jan. 29 the club will have dinner with the Eppson Center board of directors and seniors and will make the formal presentation at that time. More soon! Pres.
