Project Description Country: USA Location: Kemmerer, WY Total Budget: $750 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: Volunteer Services Summary: This project will provide storage capacity and seven picnic tables for a facility used by local non-profit youth organizations to fundraise in a local city park in Kemmerer, Wyoming. In Archie Niel Park, there is a concessions facility that is used by various youth organizations to fundraise. Organizations that may use the facility for fundraising include school groups, scouts, and clubs that serve young people. Interact members involved in fundraising activities noted that the facility does not have adequate storage and that the adjacent picnic tables need to be refurbished. Improved storage will allow volunteers to display and secure concessions sales items more effectively. Picnic tables are in poor condition and need to be repaired, sanded and sealed to ensure continued and safe usage. The project funds will be used for purchase and installation of storage cabinets and materials to repair the picnic tables. Interact members will work with Rotarians to install the cabinets and to sand and refinish the picnic tables. Work on the project will commence when weather allows. Completion date will be no later than June 30, 2018.
