Project Description Country: USA Location: Alliance, NE Total Budget: $1,200 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Activity Type: Health: Disease Summary: Three scholarships for children with challenges to attend equine therapy at a facility in Alliance, NE. Our grant this year will be for four rider sponsorships ($300 each) to East Point Horspice,a local equine therapy facility. Currently there are 17 students, both adult and children, who will attend the summer program from May 17, 2018 to July 29, 2018. These adults and children face challenges with stroke, various stages of autism, blindness, Jacobsen's syndrome, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. We have had Rotarians volunteer at Horspice in the past but no one is active currently due to time constraints. We plan to contribute the rest of the monies from the grant to provide shirts for the participants.
