Project Description Country: USA Location: Goodyear Total Budget: $1,750 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Purchase Books and help children learn to read Therapy Paws has launched a worldwide Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D) program in the Southwest Valley. Rotary will help to provide age appropriate books for children that are selected to be in the R.E.A.D program.These new books will be given to the R.E.A.D children at the end of the semester. The Rotary partnering will also include an end of year lunch event where the children, educators & rotary members will come together to celebrate their year long effort to increase their reading proficiency. Rotary members will also participate in the weekly reading program.
