Project Description Country: USA Location: San Diego, Ca Total Budget: $750 Areas of Focus: Peace and conflict prevention/resolution, Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Rotary District 5340 Model UN provides students the opportunity to participate in debates in a United Nations setting Model UN is for High School students to participate in teams of two in a United Nations debate setting. They will draw a country 3 months in advance of the April 5-7, 2019 event, learn about it's history,culture and political positions, before presenting those positions in response to two UN Resolutions chosen by the director, Kevin Cahill. It has been on going in our District 5340 for 15 years and now has participation from several other countries, i.e. Mexico, Costa Rica, Equator and Canada.
