These immersion experiences encourage OLP students to better understand the social justice issues impacting their neighbors in Tijuana, B.C. Our monthly trips to the Hogar Infantil orphanage provide opportunities for students to build long-standing relationships with the children there and lead them in various support activities. Our semesterly trips to local shelters are opportunities for our students to encounter populations involved in the immigration process and experiencing the effects of displacement and chronic poverty.
Funds will be allocated to provide transportation for each trip and to subsidize costs of student meals and donations to our partner organizations (orphanage + shelters). Full breakdown below:
