Project Description

Country: Mexico

Location: Cusarare

Total Budget: $4,700

Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Provide funds to build a school / community library

The school currently has a collection of books but does not have a facility to house this collection, nor does it have a place where students and community members can utilize this resource. Funds will be used to build a building that will be used to store and protect the books. This building will have reading and study areas that will be accessible to both students and community members. All labor will be provided by school and community members. Canyon Scholars, a service entity that our club has worked with for many years has provided the plans and budget for this project, and is our primary contact. Our club members have worked on site for past projects in this and other communities in the Copper Canyon area.

Mike,

The budget needs to have details for the expenses.Costs for supplies/equipment anything going into the building. RI will now fund the building of schools and simple buildings but they need to be pretty basic.

The club still is short on the $50 per capita requirement. Once you have met that the grant will be approved.

Mike,

We just got the final totals from RI and Lander ended up with a total donation for 2017-18 of $3,101.91. This gave you a per capita of $39.24 which falls short of the $50 per capita requirement for District Grants. If you want to resubmit this as a Centennial grant we can make an exception this year for the $50 per capita requirement. However realize that for Centennial grants the District will only match up 2-1 up to $1,000. You would either need to reduce the grant or your club would need to make up the difference.

Hello Randall,

According to MyRotary we hit $5260 in the Annual Fund with 79 members. This is what I find in https://rcc.rotary.org/#/dashboard

Can you please check this again?

Best,

Mike

Mike,

You still need to complete the District Grant final report and upload both that signed report and copies of the receipts in order for me to close out the project.
