Educational Life Skill Development for children and teens with developmental disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome and other special needs in our community is met by the mission of a community partner, Higher Octave Healing in Tempe, Arizona. Clients come from low-income working poor families. Children are charged $25.00 to join the Octave Healing program. Tempe Downtown will purchase fees for the application of 40 children to join this wonderful program. One hundred percent of this will go directly toward providing services. The children will receive therapy that will help empower and support them to be tax-paying, job holding, volunteer-minded citizens of our community.
Without this funding, children and teens who are striving toward being independent, tax-paying residents of our community by learning life skills and getting jobs would not have the ability to receive services that are highly beneficial and promoting empowerment and independence.
The club will be involved in the HOH nonprofit volunteer projects throughout the year.
Club member involvement: Members are asked to help volunteer to assist the children. Also, club members are invited to all of their public performances and recognized from the stage and in print, press release, and other website/social media as sponsors of the program - further extending Rotary into community and people's lives who would not otherwise know about Rotary.
