Project Description Country: USA Location: North County San Diego Total Budget: $2,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Provide two scholarships to qualifying mentees in MANA de North County San Diego (Latina high school seniors) Senior girls who have been participating in the Hermanitas Mentoring Program (sponsored by the non-profit MANA de North County San Diego) at Carlsbad High or Sage Creek High and who meet the criteria: • Have at least a 3.2 Grade Point Average • Have shown leadership and good character • Have at least 50 hours of community service • Have been accepted to college • Have a demonstrated financial need They can apply for a $500. scholarship by May 1, 2019 and will be selected by May 15. They will receive their check at a Rotary Route 78 meeting. We plan to award individual checks to 5 of our mentees who are seniors at their school award evening event at the beginning of June.
