San Diego has many full time residents and visitors who, unfortunately, leave all sorts of litter on the streets, sidewalks and alleys of our beautiful city. Don't Trash PB is a non-profit group that supplies the public with containers and trash grabbers and hosts clean up events, where the public gathers and walks the community and picks up loose trash in these streets, sidewalks and alleys. They also boost participation and awareness through a strong online and social media presence. This grant will help them buy buckets and grabbers for people to clean the community with, as well as new trash cans around Pacific Beach to replace those that are too broken for trash collectors to empty. These funds provided by this grant will also be used by Don't Trash PB to expand their model to neighboring San Diego communities and host trash pick-ups outside of Pacific Beach. This is a great opportunity for Rotarians to help our local communities in a very fun, collaborative and visible way. Don't Trash PB will print Rotary logos and information on the buckets purchased through this grant to help spread the message of Rotary to all of it's participants, the majority of which are in the 20-35 age group.
