Community Development: Volunteer Services
Summary: The Woodridge Rotary will partner with Hope's Front Door to assist folks in our community who are in dire need of basic assistance.
Hope's Front Door provides an entry point to social services for members of our community who need immediate assistance and help in finding continuing assistance. Primary methods of support include links to food pantries, medical treatment, Rx supply, and other counseling. Many of these services require financial support. We plan to dedicate our entire DDF of $1579 to this cause. During the great recession of 2008, Hope's Front Door encountered a 40% increase in clients because of the economic downturn. While the normal client demographic includes folks who have special needs or are more vulnerable, the COVID crisis will bring in many more clients who have never encountered this type of personal or family crisis. This service is focused upon the communities of Woodridge, Darien, Downers Grove, and Westmont.
