Project Description

Country: USA

Location: New Lenox

Total Budget: $5,000

Area of Focus: None

Activity Type: Education: Scholarship

Summary: We will use District and Club funds to award scholarships to graduating high school students in New Lenox IL

Our Club wants to continue the practice of awarding scholarships to graduating high school students from Lincoln Way West, Lincoln Way Central and Providence High Schools who are furthering their education at community college or a four year university. Our Club works with guidance counselors at each of the schools for recommendations for the recipients. This year we want to give out 10 $500 scholarships to deserving students. Typically one of our Club members attends the scholarship ceremony and then we invite the students and their parents to attend a Club meeting in early May to actually present the checks to them. This past year with the pandemic we were only able to distribute the checks through the schools. Hopefully next year we can return to the same distribution process.

Hi Eloise,

Hi ,

I want to remind you that your club’s final report for P3367 is due in two weeks: Monday, May 31.

Since your club awards scholarships, I know you are delayed getting proof-of-purchase. The checks take a while to clear the bank. However, it is tremendously helpful if you file the final report narrative now and post proof of purchase as soon as it is available.

The grants subcommittee’s deadline to close the 2020-2021 District Grant is July 1. Filing your final report narrative now will help us to make our deadline.

Thanks so much for everything you are doing. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have done the final report and loaded the cashed scholarship checks and the photos of each student. I am still waiting on two checks to clear our bank for Julia Czart and Gabe Askew. I will upload them when I receive them.
