Project Description Country: USA Location: Valentine Total Budget: $1,250 Area of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention Activity Type: Peace: Volunteer Services Summary: Adding a monument for Korean and Viet Nam veterans to the existing Veteran's Memorial to honor veterans from Cherry County, Nebraska A monument to honor Korean and Viet Nam veterans will be an addition to an existing Veteran's memorial complex. The funds will be used to re-position two existing monuments, remove and re-pour the concrete bases for the re-positioned monuments. This is being done to make room for the new monument creating a cohesive, easily viewed memorial that will honor veterans from Cherry County. This phase of the project is projected to be completed in the fall of 2020 and the entire project is estimated to be completed in late spring or early summer 2021. Multiple Rotarians are serving on the Memorial Committee assisting with planning and coordinating the memorial project and will assist with the re-positioning of the monuments.
