Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)
We WERE unable to conduct the 33rd Annual Fun Run (#6 on our original list, $2,400) and the Dog Walk (#8, $2,000), due to COVID restrictions. These figures include $2,200 from District and $2,200 from club contributions.
Our members initially proposed 8 options to reallocate the unusable funds. Priorities were decided during a special Zoom meeting.
The $4,400 from these projects was reallocated as follows:
A. Community Food Connection, $1,100. A nearby, local food bank needs to repair/replace its access ramp. The ramp is old, unstable and the surface is vulnerable to breaking through. The money will be used for materials. The Rancho Bernardo Sunrise and Noon clubs already provide support to this organization. Members will install.
B. Safety for All, $1,100. A new program organized by the San Diego Police Foundation. It's a series designed as a community outreach program to allow viewers to experience what our local police officers actually do, how, and why. The hope is to provide transparency and understanding.
C. Meals for local support agencies, $1,100. Provide meals from local eateries to community service organizations. Helps local restaurants and gives special thanks to Carmel Mt. Ranch/Penasquitos/Mira Mesa/ Sabre Springs area Police and Fire Stations as a special thanks for their service during the pandemic.
D. Boys and Girls Club-4S Ranch/Rancho Family YMCA-Rcho PQ, $1,100. Provide scholarships and support for youth, identified by the organization's representatives, who might otherwise be unable to participate in programs.
