Project Description Country: USA Location: Fort Collins, CO 80525 Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: The project will fund one year of an undergraduate scholarship awarded to a high school student graduating from the Poudre School District in Fort Collins, CO. The Rotary Club of Fort Collins Breakfast grants scholarships to students attending undergraduate school at colleges or universities. The Club is requesting a Governor's Grant, which would fund one student for one year. The Club has a rigorous selection process and selected students must maintain an established grade point average in order to receive funding for subsequent semesters. Last year, over 400 high school seniors applied for our Club's Scholarships. A committee from the Club reviewed the applications and winnowed the list down to eight students. Those students were interviewed via Zoom. The committee then selected the scholarship recipients. Each selected student is assigned a club member mentor. The requested funds will be spent to fund one student for the spring semester of 2021 and the fall semester of 2021.
