Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Casper, Wyoming

Total Budget: $1,000

Areas of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene, Basic education and literacy, Community economic development

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: Casper Interact Club would like to purchase two ShelterBoxes for their international service project this year.

This year, the Casper Interact Club has selected ShelterBox as their international service project partner. ShelterBox delivers the essential aid people need to begin rebuilding their lives in the aftermath of a disaster. The aid supplied comes in the form of ShelterBoxes and ShelterKits. Each ShelterBox costs $1,000 and the Casper Interact Club is committed to purchasing one ShelterBox while raising awareness for and education of disasters and disaster relief. Interact is speaking to local Rotary groups, student associations and community clubs to provide ShelterBox awareness and disaster/disaster relief education. The sturdy green ShelterBoxes contain family-sized tents specially designed to withstand the elements and provide people with temporary shelter until they are able to start the process of rebuilding a home; the contents differ depending on the disaster and the climate, but items such as solar lights, water storage and purification equipment, thermal blankets and cooking utensils help start the process of creating a home.

Elissa,

Interact grants are limited to $300 DDF so you need to reduce that amount from $500 in the financing section. You also need to show how Interact kids are going to be involved in this project in the description area. District grants cannot be just giving money they need to have Rotarian(Interact) involvement of some kind. Also, you need to create a budget of your income and expenses to the documents area.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Elissa,

You still need to upload a copy of the check you sent shelter box that equals your expenses. If you can't get a check copy you could also use a bank statement showing the check. Once you upload either of these to the documents area let me know and I can close out the grant.
