Project Description Country: USA Location: Lewisville TX Total Budget: $8,315 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: The Lewisville Noon Rotary will be enhancing a community park with disc golf as a recreational activity in the park. The City of Lewisville has 114,000 residents. Currently, the City of Lewisville has 20 parks open for residents. These parks include not only playgrounds, but recreational activities as baseball, softball, disc golf, golf, dog park, and nature preserve. The City has put forth an initiative to have a park available for their residence within 10 minutes of their home. The Lewisville Noon Rotary has been holding fundraising activities to raise funds to put in a disc golf facility at Lenard L. Woods Park located on Arbour Way. This park has 28 acres of trails and fields and adding the disc golf will be a great addition for a recreational activity for the residence. Dynamic Disc will be providing the supplies for the park. The Lewisville Noon Rotary wanted to provide something that would serve others for many years to come while promoting Rotary's "Service Above Self" Motto. We are requesting $3,000 matching grant from the District which the Lewisville Noon Rotary will match the $3,000 and cover the additional $2315 in cost.
