Project Description Country: USA Location: Oak Lawn Total Budget: $3,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: $1000. Scholarship to be given to three seniors in High School for on-going education. Every year the Oak Forest Rotary sponsors a $1000.00 scholarship for three students who write an application based on their Service oriented participation. We usually receive up to 20 applications for the scholarships which are reviewed by five or more Rotarians. We rate the applications based on the service activities, groups or clubs they are involved with and service hours completed. Most have plans on furthering their education and joining in activities that will be based on service. Others may be attending a trade school or the military. After reviewing the applications and interviewing the top ten we award the top three a $1000.00 scholarship.
