Project Description Country: USA Location: Phoenix , AZ Total Budget: $17,350 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Speech Contest is open to any high school aged student within Arizona. Students compete for scholarships for their college education. This contest has been going on for 91 years Most high school students need assistance with college education costs, this contest gives approximately $11,250 to students for their college fund. The preliminary event is held all day the Monday before the final event at the Phoenix 100 Friday meeting. Breakfast and lunch are provided to students, coaches, college reps and volunteers at a cost of $4,500. Over 4o Rotary Members are involved as judges, timekeepers and monitors. The 91st Phoenix Rotary 100 Speech Contest will be held in November 2021.
