Project Description Country: USA Location: Long Beach Total Budget: $16,000 Area of Focus: None Activity Type: Food/Agriculture: Volunteer Services Summary: The goal of this project is to assist food insecure students in Long Beach by providing methods to obtain food easily and free of charge for them. The goal of this project is to help food insufficient students at California State University Long Beach, Long Beach City College and potentially LBUSD. For many of our students, this is defined as not being confident of their next meal. These issues affect students ability to get their degrees and also present challenges for daily survival. Rotary Long Beach will provide projects to assist with this urgent situation as determined from the schools' greatest need. For example, each school has a Food Pantry as well as regular distribution of food for students. Rotary will assist with these projects through food drives and food distribution methods several times throughout the year.
