Provide at risk High School Juniors and Senior students with resuable water bottles. Our Club will present an educational impact curriculum, being developed by a club member, to focus on the current plastic crisis. As Rotarians, we can be a model, and show our commitment of reducing our reliance on single use plastics.
As Rotarians, we can be a model, and show our commitment of reducing our reliance on single use plastics.
Our Club, along with other educators and professionals, will brainstorm with students on what they/we can do to address the single use plastics problem and to think of pro active ways to make an impact to our oceans, global and local environments.
Orange Plaza Rotary has an ongoing mentoring program, Mentor Meals, with a group of high risk students at El Modena High School. At our monthly Mentor Meals evening meetings, our club purchases a dozen Pizzas, and 48 single use plastic water bottles for our student mentees. Our club members actively participate along with six non Rotarian professionals under the direction of El Modena High School Teaching Staff.
This project would allow the purchase 40 high quality reusable water bottles for our Junior group and 40 units for the Senior group.
