Working in conjunction with Keep Keith County Beautiful and the Ogallala Tree Board to plant 150 trees within the community to improve the environmental sustainability of the town. This is a one year goal to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Arbor Day. The trees are estimated to cost about $150 each and we would like to purchase 5 trees for this project. A couple of the trees will be planted in the city park that the Rotary Club and 4 other community service organizations joined together to fund in the Collister Park last year to include a new handicapped accessible playground and splashpad. These trees would add some environmental beautification to the newly renovated park project. Rotarians will assist with the planting of the trees and a Rotary name plaque will be placed at the base of the trees.
Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)
We were short on club funds this year due to not holding as many fundraisers with COVID. We contributed 25% of the DDF funds so $127.25 plus the DDF $509 for a total of $636.25. We previously gave the City Tree Board a check in the fall to get a few trees purchased for $201.25. This check donation finishes our contribution to the City of Ogallala Splash Pad tree planting project.
