Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Ogallala, Nebraska

Total Budget: $758

Area of Focus: Maternal and child health

Activity Type: Health: General

Summary: Help to fund 150 Back Packs full of food for children to eat on the weekends.

Provide financial support to the local Back Pack Program which is coordinated through a local community church organization and the public school system. They have identified at least 150 elementary students who need food assistance during the weekend while they are away from school so they can receive some healthy food options or even just something to eat. Most of the students come from very low income families who can not afford to purchase enough food for their household. Club members will assist with packing the back packs prior to them being delivered to the school and confidentially placed inside each students locker who is registered for the Back Pack program.
