Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Boise

Total Budget: $10,000

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

Activity Type: Health: Disease

Summary: Create and support two high school based mental health service clubs

Mental health service clubs are student-driven organizations focused on the mental health awareness of the student body based on NAMI On Campus. Rotarians would work with students and schools to provide guidance and support in organizing clubs, identifying training needs and activities within their school communities, selecting, promoting, and supporting those activities. Each mental health club would have Rotarian advisors and be invited to club meetings to give regular updates to the Rotary Club. Rotarians would be involved at any training events and activities whenever appropriate and possible. The grant would support training events and activities for students and families, such as NAMI Family to Family, and Family Basics courses.
