Summary: A structured work-based program integrated with the alternative Heartland High School in McCall, Idaho
The McCall Donnelly/Heartland Community Apprenticeship Program (MDCAP) is a structured work-based program integrated into the Heartland High School program. With a career focused curricula incorporating industry standards, performance-based assessment, and job site mentorship from partner businesses, students acquire essential workplace skills and competencies specific to the McCall Donnelly region and job market. This program will creates a deeper level of commitment to the community and provides students that struggle with traditional curriculum an opportunity to broaden their opportunities for high-skill and high-wage jobs needed in the area. This program will begin at the start of the 2024 school year. The McCall Rotary Club has been actively working with Heartland Alternative School over the last several years. For this project, Rotarians will be instrumental in matching area partners with student apprentices, work closely with the director of the apprenticeship program providing guidance and expertise to the program, mentor the students as they navigate the program and help them with workplace readiness. Project funds will be used for purchasing proper attire, supplies and course material for the training work they will do in partnership with businesses.

It is unclear what the active Rotarian involvement will be in this project. You make reference to past participation, but that is irrelevant to this grant application and really should not be included.
